My family and I came from Africa in February 2001.  We moved to Altona North to settle in our new home.  We didn’t know anybody and didn’t know where the churches are.  By the grace of God, one Easter evening we went for a walk on the beach where we met a lady who showed us this Church.  At that time it was called Altona Assemblies of God under the ministry of Pastor Wilson and Usha Snelex.  On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and were given food and clothing because it was Easter blessing day. Since then, my life has changed completely and I have never gone back to where I came from. Their life style and teaching impacted my life and the lives of my entire family.

Their ministry empowered us to love Jesus because he first loved us and died for our sins. We learnt to be content and to be happy, not only in good times but also in bad times. Through this ministry, we kept going from strength to strength, putting our trust and hope in Jesus Christ, who is the author and finisher of our faith. We are waiting upon the Lord and we believe that He is in total control of everything and he will see us through. Our sincere heartfelt gratitude goes to Pastor Wilson and Usha Snelex for being by us in good and bad timee and for strengthening us spiritually to stand firm. May the Almighty God bless them and give them a long life to see and enjoy the fruits of their labour. In Jesus Name.

I used to live a life full of hate, hurt, and un-forgiveness towards those who had hurt me and I suffered a lot for the words/things that were spoken into my life and also done to me.  So my life was a mess, I went through physical and emotional torment through illnesses, in my body and as a result this developed fear and low self-esteem in my life.

But one day I met a Christian friend who shared to me the love of Christ, and he revealed to me Romans: 3:23, that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  That every man, woman, or child who was ever born or will be born with have a problem with sin.  And this indicated to me that I needed Christ in my life to come out of my mess.  Just as all have sinned, also (Rom:5:1) all have been justified and made righteous through the redemption provided in Christ Jesus, and given a right standing with God through faith.

As I live my life now as a new creation in Christ, God has given me peace of mind and heart, and to live in peace with everyone.  He has given me right standing to enjoy my life as a new creation in Christ, to overcome the old things that happened to me, not to affect my new life in Christ (2 Cor 5:17). God has also given me power and His grace to forgive whoever hurt me.

God in His good mercy has also connected me with wonderful people, whom I call as my family in Hands of Grace church, who believed in me ever since I came to this Nation as a Refugee from South Sudan. They believed in getting out the potential, the gifts and talents that God has put in me to advance in the Kingdom of God by providing a platform for that to happen.

And I would like to mention that this opportunity has changed my life forever.  Ever since I stepped into the Church, I never looked back, God gave me the peace to stay and I have not regretted it.  God has helped me to develop and improve in many areas of my spiritual growth, e.g. through overcoming fears and low self-esteem etc.

Our God can't & never will be limited to a small box because HIS ways are always higher & wider than our own. His our miracle worker, healer, provider & so much more, but above all else for me His my Father (to the father-less). I joined this church in 2001 during my teen years with my family, I started off as a shy backup singer to now leading worship, sharing communion and the word of God. The shyness is still there but who (even to myself) thought that I will be where God wants me to be. I believe that's the same with us all as the salt, light & treasure carriers to share the gospel.

We've been more than blessed in our church to have Pastor Wilson & his family, whose main focus is God & serving people. In addition, they do their best to bring out God's message with love, honour, nurture & respect to the team and the wider community. There is much more to say, but the one that always touches my heart is his passion, love & guidance to building the next generation. Which I would say is a great foundation to build & produce leaders to expand God's kingdom.

As a new believer then and throughout my journey in life i have tasted God's faithfulness over my life and i have to say that he has always come through for me without fail. Every time i get on my knees he has never disappointed me, he has always come through at his own timing and with much more than i ever asked for

Due to him been ever faithful i have learnt with time to lean on him much closer for everything from doors that need to be opened in my schooling and careers through to health and recovery for my self and loved ones

Psalms 121: Behold i look up to the hills where my help comes from, my help comes from the lord who made heaven and earth, is the anthem of my life
